Community Interests

Our primary goal is to help you grow as a leader. One of the ways we do this is through having you work in a team to research and propose a solution to an important community issue. This year's team projects will focus on generative AI's opportunities to improve the lives of people in Hawaii.

If you accept our offer, we will place you in a team. We will attempt to create a team with diverse skillsets and knowledge levels, but who hopefully have similar community interests.

Acceptance

I accept the offer to participate in the 2024 Next Gen Leaders Program ("Program").

Media Consent

I hereby authorize the Jordan & Cara Odo Scholarship Foundation and its agents, officers, or volunteers to take photographs and audio or audiovisual recordings of me.

I further give permission to the Jordan & Cara Odo Scholarship Foundation and its agents, officers, and volunteers to publish my photographs, audio or audiovisual recordings, interviews, quotes, and biographical information in print, broadcast, or electronic media, including but not limited to the Internet. I understand that such publications may be used for advertising or marketing purposes. I hereby release the Jordan & Cara Odo Scholarship Foundation and its agents, officers, and volunteers from all claims, demands, and liabilities arising from, related to, or in connection with any of the above.

Future References

I consent to allow the Jordan & Cara Odo Scholarship Foundation, its officers, agents, and volunteers, in their sole discretion and judgment, to provide information, opinions, and evaluations of my performance, character, or behavior to prospective employers or educational institutions. I agree to release and discharge the Jordan & Cara Odo Scholarship Foundation and its agents, officers, and volunteers from all claims, demands, and liabilities relating to the foregoing disclosure of information, opinions, or evaluations.

Other Acknowledgements and Agreements

I acknowledge and agree that my participation in the Program is not considered employment and that I will not be an employee of the Jordan & Cara Odo Scholarship Foundation and its agents, officers, and volunteers, nor the organizations that I'll be working with or that employ or are owned by my project advisor or mentor. I also acknowledge that I do not expect to receive any form of compensation, scholarship, or a paid job during or at the conclusion of the program.

I agree to hold the Jordan & Cara Odo Scholarship Foundation and its agents, officers, and volunteers harmless from any and all claims, demands, and liabilities arising from my participation in the Program.

I understand that the Jordan & Cara Odo Scholarship Foundation may terminate the Program at any time with or without cause.

Professional Responsibilities and Decorum

During this Program, I understand that I will be working alongside and meeting with business leaders and professionals. I agree to:

Maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information, if requested;
Respect the intellectual property (e.g., copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets) of companies that you will be working with;
Demonstrate appropriate business etiquette, honesty, punctuality, respect, courtesy, cooperative attitude, and proper health and grooming habits;
Do my best to complete projects in a timely fashion, and if you are unable to do so, notify my teammates and the program leadership team;
Attend all in-person and online meetings and show up on time;
Participate fully in discussions and meetings;
Be a team player; and
Take advantage of various learning opportunities, demonstrate a willingness to learn, and be open to feedback and ideas.
